Our mission is to provide holistic education to young boys with special emphasis on developing leadership and communication skills.

Mr. Moshiur Rahman

Mr. Moshiur Rahman, Managing Director of Paragon Group. After graduation and acquiring modern knowledge in printing technology from Heidelberg, Germany and entered in his family business Udayan Press Ltd. In 1989 he launched another new   venture Paragon Press Ltd.
He started agro farming and genetic development in poultry breeding in 1993 including animal & aqua feed processing.
He is also sets up plants in 6 projects to producing electricity from his poultry farm waste and also electricity from the solar panels installed on the rooftop of his own farms and meeting at least 60% farm requirement. Installing industrial rooftop solar power plants and mini & mega grids solar projects to supply to the national grid.

Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder  MP

Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder MP is one of the leading and successful industrialists of the country. He has been currently carrying out his responsibilities as the Chairman of Pubali Bank Ltd. a leading bank of Bangladesh. Alongside his business activities Mr. Hafiz Ahmed Mazumder is a successful banker, education lover, social worker and above all a very well known political personality.

Due to his relentless efforts and sincerity he has become one of the successful business entrepreneurs of the country. At present he is a CIP declared by the government of Bangladesh. At the very beginning of eighties he was among those who initiated garments business with risks and challenges. Currently he is The Managing Director of Rupantar, Beauty, Shapla and Southern Apparels.

Apart from this he is also the Managing Director of Lipika Textile and Brindaban Tea Garden, Habigonj. He took part in National Parliamentary polls in 1991 from Zokigonj-Kanaighat constituency as the candidate of Bangladesh Awami League and now he is the running MP of this area.

He has been a visionary in many walks of life. His Hafiz Mazumder Trust has established my schools and colleges across the Sylhet division, and these institutes are pioneering the education sector in the region.

Mr. Mohd. Safwan Choudhury  
Mr.Mohd. Safwan Choudhury is one of the founding trustees of Jaflong Valley Boarding School. Mr Choudhury has completed his Masters from the University of Dhaka. He has impressive professional experience and has business interest in tea manufacturing, banking, textile, real estate, seed production and cold storage.

His flagship company M. Ahmed Tea and lands Company Limited is a fourth generation tea producing company doing business since the British India. He served as the Chairman of Bangladesh Tea Association which represents 126 tea plantations belonging to both Bangladeshi and foreign companies.
Mr Choudhury is also involved in social development. He is the president of FIVDB, an NGO providing primary education to underprivileged children. The NGO also reaches un-banked people with access to microfinance. Mr Choudhury is the former President of Sylhet Chamber of Commerce and Industry, besides being a member of Lions Club of Sylhet.
He also serves as Chairman of Executive Board of Anandaniketan School, which provides IGCSE and IA Levels of the Edexcel curriculum. He is a sponsor shareholder of Bank Asia Limited and currently serves as its Vice Chairman.


Imran Ahmad MP
Imran Ahmad MP is the Minister of Ministry of Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment. He is serving as a 6th term Member of Parliament (MP) from sylhet-4 (Jointapur, Gowainghat, Companiganj) constituency.


In 1974, he decided to become self-employed and has since been running his own tea garden named `Sreepur Tea Garden'. Mr. Imran Ahmad started his political career as an activist of Bangladesh Awami League to serve people in 1986. He was elected as an MP from Sylhet-4 constituency in the third (1986), Fifth (1991), seventh (1996), ninth (2008), tenth (2004) and 11th parliamentary elections (2018) from Awami League.

. He was a member of the Standing Committee on the `Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources' in the fifth parliament. He was the chairman of the Government Organization Committee in the seventh parliament and the member of the standing committee on Ministry of `Power, Energy and Mineral Resources'. He served as a member of the Parliamentary Committee in the 9th Parliament Library Committee and Standing Committee on the `Ministry of Foreign Affairs'. In the 10th national Parliament, he served as the Chairman of the Standing Committee on `Postal, Telecommunication and Information Technology' Ministry and a member of the Standing Committee on `Ministry of Science and Technology'.
During that time he played a vital role in launching `Bangabandhu Satalite-1' successfully. For his active initiative, in Companyganj Upazila of Sylhet district, established the only Electronic City (proposed Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman High Tech Park) in Bangladesh.
Imran Ahmad has involvment in various social and cultural activities. He is the founder of Rangpani Captain Rashid High School and College, Imran Ahmad Women's degree College, Goainghat Imran Ahmad Girls' School and Imran Ahmad Technical College, Companiganj. He has involvment in various social and educational institutions including Goainghat College, Jaintapur Degree College, Sarighat High School, Salutikor College, Aliragaon College, Haji Sohrab Ali School and College, Rustampur College and Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) Degree College.

 

Dr Kabir Choudhury

Master of many degrees, Dr. Kabir Choudhury has M.Sc,MS, Ph.D, Chem, MRSC, FCS (London) as witness to his credentials. He has an impressive career record to speak of. He started his journey as a Professor in Notre Dame College & Holy Cross College, Dhaka. Thereafter he worked as an advisor with the Ministry of Education, Zanzibar in East Africa & led a 5-membered Steering Committee on Liberation of Bangladesh in UK in 1971.

He made notable contribution towards the Bangladeshi Community by laying the foundation of Bangladesh British Chamber of Commerce in UK & acquiring trusteeship of United Kingdom Bangladesh Education (UKBET).


Mr. Tapan Chowdhury

Mr. Tapan Chowdhury as Managing Director of the Company since 1995, second son of late Samson H Chowdhury, founder Chairman of the Company. Science graduate from the University of Dhaka and has completed different advanced courses on Business Management in Europe. Having a prosperous knowledge and experience of more than 35 years in Pharmaceuticals, Hospitals, Textiles, RMG, IT, Healthcare, Toiletries, Food & Consumer Products, Organic Tea Plantation, Capital Market Operation & Satellite TV Broadcasting.

He did Post-doctoral teaching in world famous universities of Nottingham & Manchester between 1975 to 1977 & thereafter left for Kuwait where he worked as an advisor with the Ministry of Health.

He also Sponsor Director in 30 other private limited company namely Square Hospitals Ltd., Square Formulations Ltd., Square Toiletries Ltd., Square Informatics Ltd., Square Yarns Ltd., Square Food & Beverages Ltd., Square Securities Management Ltd., Square Agro Development and Processing Ltd., Square Herbal and Nutraceuticals Ltd., Square Air Ltd., Astras Ltd., Sabazpur Tea Company Ltd. and Maasranga Television under the Square Group.

He was an Advisor (Minister) to the Caretaker Government of Bangladesh in 2007. Mr. Tapan Chowdhury was also a Former President of The Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed. Companies (BAPLC), Young Men’s Christian Association (YMCA) and Bangladesh Baptist Church Fellowship (BBCF).

  
Mr. Alhaj. A. K. Azad

He has done his B.Sc (HONS) in applied physics from Dhaka University. He is involved in manufacturing and exporting ready- made garments. He is the Managing Director of Ha-meem Group which processes a host of things in the garments manufacturing unit under its name. He had been nominated as a President of the Federation of Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FBCCI) and Bangladesh Chamber of Industries (BCI) previously.

Presently he occupies the post of President of Dhaka University Alumni Association (DUAA). He also holds Chairmanship of Al Haj M.A Aziz Junior High School, Faridpur and Presidency of Dr Zahed Memorial Child Hospital, faridpur. He is the founder of Refat Koumi Madrasa in Faridpur.

Thus he is a distinguished figure in Faridpur province. Besides leading these organizations, he is also actively involved in various clubs as a member.
 

 Md. Ismail Hossain

 

Md. Ismail Hossain, a leading businessman by profession, has experience of more than 30 years in the apparel and dyeing sectors of Bangladesh’s garment industry. He is currently the Managing Director of Sharmin Group, Sharmin Fashions Limited, Sharmin Apparels Limited, Sharaf Embroidery and Printing Limited, Sharaf Washing and Dyeing Industries Limited, Sharaf Apparels, A.M Design Limited, A.M Fashions,  Ishayat Apparels Limited, Ilmeeyat Apparels, Ilmeeyat Washing and Dyeing Industries Limited and several other industries. He is also the Director of Modhumoti Bank Limited.
He is awarded with Operational Excellence and Innovation award from H & M Buying House. He has also received awards for European Quality Standard, Best Enterprise Manager of the Year award by the European Business Assembly from Oxford, UK. 
 

Dr. A.K. Ubaidur Rob

Mr Rob is a PhD holder in population planning from the University of Michigan, an MS in applied statistics from the University of London, and an M.Sc. in statistics in Chittagong University in Bangladesh. Joined as a Population Council’s resident advisor, leading the council’s work in Pakistan in 1990, Mr Rob climbed the ladder of success by sheer hard work and dedication. Today he has become the most sought-after figure for the Government of Bangladesh and non-governmental organizations. From the post of a visiting professor at Jahangir University to being a research and evaluation advisor with AVSC(now Engender Health), and a demographer/ statistician at the International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Mr Rob has played multitudes of roles . As a long serving member of Population Council his work profile includes advising policy makers and leading statesmen in matters of population and health. Besides this, his other contribution includes teaching a post-graduate course at Dhaka University  and supervising students of PhD and Master’s degree. He is an active member of the American Public Health Association, Bangladesh Population Association, Public Health Association, Statistical Association and Global Health Association, Population Association of America and International Union for Scientific Study of Population. He also serves on the board of Ashiana Trust Foundation, Assistance for Blind Children and Underprivileged Children’s Education Program.

 

Mr. A. Motin Chowdhury 

He is a war hero of 1971 which marked the history of Bangladesh with blood. Although retired  from the Army as a Major in 1976, he has not let his old age come in the way of his work. He still works incessantly with various non-profit organizations like Independent University Bangladesh (IUB), Diabetic Association of Bangladesh (DAB), Bangladesh, Legal Aid & Services Trust (BLAST) and Underprivileged Children Education Program (UCEP), Anjuman Mufidul Islam, Bangladesh University of Health Science Trust (BUHS Trust) etc… to name a few. Among the mentioned organizations, the Independent University, Bangladesh and the Bangladesh University of Health Science Trust are founded by him.


 

Mr. Reshadur Rahman Shaheen

Mr Reshadur Rahman is the Honorary Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Bangladesh. He was awarded with FICAC Gold Medal from the World’s Federation Consuls (FICAC) in the year 2015 for his outstanding contribution as a member of Consular Corps in Bangladesh. He is a prominent industrialist and entrepreneur in the country. His able and vibrant leadership is distinctly visible in banking sector where Dhaka bank is an epitome of his continued success. Mr Rahman is now leading the Dhaka Bank and the Dhaka Bank Securities Ltd as the Chairman, along with the Trade Hub Bangladesh Ltd and R.R Aviation Limited to his credit. His other field of interest is working for a noble cause. He is the advisor to the Board of Trustee of SEID Trust (an organisation promoting rights of children with intellectual and multiple disabilities as well as autism). He is a patron and  donor to a number of schools and colleges across the country. He  generously donates money across the country to Birdem Hospital, Cancer Hospital, Chittagong Medical College, Rehab centres, Bangladesh Red Crescent Society and National Heart Foundation among the prominent ones and some orphanages, mosques and other religious establishments.

Principal’s message


I feel extremely honoured and privileged to be here as the Principal of Jaflong Valley Boarding School, located in the arcadia of nature in Jaflong, Sylhet, one of the pioneering English Version (National Curriculum) educational institutions for the boys of class-VI to XII in a framework of Boarding School functioned modalities. To have an international standard of education facilities in Bangladesh of such kind is a special opportunity for us.

A high grade in academic attainment is a fundamental issue that is considered with due importance and priority. Therefore, the academic schedule is designed as such under the case of the experienced teaching team. The need for the widening of mental faculties, creativity, originality, and ingenuity of the thinking process and for enhancement of the intellectual ability of the students is focused with due care. we are seriously committed to preparing our students for the challenges of the future, instilling in them the values of integrity, resilience, and compassion.

Co-curricular and extra-curricular events are integrated with the overall commitment in a way to ensures appropriate physical and mental growth of the adolescent boys in the residential environment.
